Abstract
Siski Apriani (P00341021044) Description of Blood Sedimentation Rate in Hepatitis B Patients at Bahteramas Regional Hospital, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Department of D-III Medical Laboratory Technology, Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, Kendari, mentoring by Julianti Isma Sari Usman and Ahmad Zil Fauzi. Introduction : Hepatitis B is an infectious or inflammatory disease of liver cells caused by the hepatitis B virus, which can cause inflammation of the liver. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate is an indicator of inflammation. So in hepatitis B patients, the erythrocyte sedimentation rate can increase as a response to the inflammatory process that occurs in the liver. Objective : This research aims to determine the description of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate in hepatitis B patients at Bahteramas Regional Hospital, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Method : The type of research used is quantitative descriptive with a crosssectional approach. The research sample consisted of 31 samples taken using the Purposive Sampling technique, and the blood sedimentation rate was checked using the Westergren method. Results : In this research, the results showed that of the 31 samples of hepatitis B sufferers, 23 people (74%) had increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate values and 8 people (26%) were normal. Conclusion : A total of 31 samples of hepatitis B sufferers were found to have increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate values higher than normal.
