Abstract
Objective: to analyze the effect of giving mixed juice of papaya (Carica papaya) and honey(Lyopercisum Esculentum) on the intensity of gastric pain in gastritis patients at the IntegratedHealthcare Center for elderly of Talia village, the working area of Public Health Center of Abeli,city of Kendari City 2019. Method: This research was a quasi-experiment with pre and post-testdesign with a control group. The population in this study were all patients with gastritis with asample of 60 people (30 cases and 30 controls). Sampling was done by simple random sampling.Data were analyzed using the paired t-test to analyze differences in pain intensity, and the pooledt-test to analyze the effect of giving a mixture of papaya (Carica papaya) and honey(Lycopersicum esculentum) juice to reduce pain intensity in patients with gastritis. Results: Therewas a significant effect of giving mixed juice of papaya (Carica papaya) and honey (Lycopersicumesculentum) to reduce pain intensity in gastritis patients at Integrated Healthcare Center for theelderly of Talia village, the working area of the public health center of Abeli, city of Kendari (p =0,000 <α = 0.05). Conclusion: Mixed juice of papaya and honey can reduce the intensityof pain in gastritis patients.Keywords: Mixed juice of papaya and honey, pain, and gastritis
