Abstract
This study aims to detemine the effectiveness of a mixture of truit juice of pumpkin (Cucutbita maxima) and tomatoes (lyqercisum esculentum) to dedease blood prcssurc in eldety hypeftensive. This rcsearch method was quasi expeimental with prc-test and post-fest des,gn with contrcl group. The population in this study are all eldedy and hypeiension werc enrclled in Posyandu Eldedy Mata Bubu Fuskesmas Poasia Kendai 2016 as many as 33 people. The total sample was 30 eldedy Wople who werc divided into lwo groups: 15 people the inteNention gtuup and 15 control group. IDe /esu/ts showed that administntion of a mixtu,e of fruit iuice of pumpkin (Aucuhita maxima) and tomatoes (Lyoryrcisum esculentum) is effective in loweing blood pressurc in eldedy hypeiensive respectively for systoric blood prcssurc (p = 0.022; u = 0.05), and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.U6; s = 0.05).
