Abstract
Growth is the physical size (anatomy) and structure of the body in the sense of being partly or wholly due to the multiplication (increase in number) of cells and also due to the increase in cell size. The number of delays in the growth of children in Indonesia so far has no definitive data, because research on this subject has not been widely reportedThe purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between early detection and growth abnormalities of children under the age of 1-3 years at the Landongi Jaya Health Center, East Kolaka Regency in 2019This type of research is analytic descriptive using cross sectional design. The population in this study were toddlers aged 1-3 years in the Work Area of Ladongi Jaya Health Center, East Kolaka Regency in 2019, amounting to 100 people with asample of 40 respondents. The statistical test used was the Fisher exact test.The results showed that the most children were children who experienced normal growth (according to) as many as 31 people (77.5%) and the least were children who experienced abnormal growth or not as many as 9 people (22.5%). The ability of good categories of mothers to detect growth abnormalities early as many as 28 people (70.0%) and the least is less able to detect growth abnormalities early as many as 12 people (30.0%). There is a relationship between early detection and growth abnormalities of children aged 1-3 years in the Work Area of Ladongi Jaya Health Center, East Kolaka Regency in 2019 (p value = 0.001).
